Kindergarten Worksheets

We love Dr. Seuss in our home, so making some free Dr. Seuss-inspired kindergarten worksheets was a no-brainer.

Written in the classic Dr. Seuss style, Dr. Seuss’s ABC is a fun introduction to the English alphabet. To clarify, it covers both capital and lower-case letters. So with big letters and zany characters, this is a great book to read with your child to introduce the alphabet. Of course, our favorite character is the silly Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz!

Make sure to add this book to your reading list. It’s a permanent addition to our home library and even my toddler enjoys reading this book with me. Since the letters are large and bright, he likes to read the letters with me. Regarding the Dr. Seuss worksheets, this set is handwriting intensive as it covers the entire alphabet.

Suggested Follow-Up Activities for Kindergarten Worksheets

Here are some related follow-up activities or other items that may be helpful and/or fun when you read the book.

  1. Read Dr. Seuss’s 123.
    • If you and your child enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss’s ABC and completing my free kindergarten worksheets, the perfect complementary book to it is Dr. Seuss’s 1 2 3. Letters and numbers are the basics of what kindergartners typically learn. This book goes from one Cat in the Hat to twenty Fuddnuddler brothers. In the same Dr. Seuess fashion, this is another entertaining story with zany characters to pique your child’s interest and make learning fun! Recommended for grades PK-2.
  2. Use alphabet flash cards like this one.
    • This is a very affordable alphabet flash card set that covers both upper and lowercase letters. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
  3. Play with this alphabet puzzle toy.
    • Hands-on activities, such as completing puzzles, can help reinforce concepts that have been recently learned. This wooden puzzle can make for a great follow-up activity after reading the Dr. Seuss’s ABC book. It includes both the upper and lowercase letters too.

Suggested Videos for Kindergarten Worksheets

Here are some videos that you might find helpful after reading the book. You can watch the video before or after completing the worksheets.

  1. Writing Alphabet Letters for Children by Periwinkle
    • This first video helps show the standard stroke order for writing the English alphabet. This may be helpful to watch BEFORE completing the free kindergarten worksheets.
  2. Learn the Alphabet with Blippi by Blippi
    • My daughter doesn’t care for Blippi, but I’ve noticed that both my younger son and his same-age cousin absolutely love watching Blippi. This is a fun video for younger children to have fun while still getting exposure to the English alphabet in both uppercase and lowercase forms. This video is from the official Blippi channel on YouTube. If you’re not familiar with Blippi, he is an educational YouTuber doing various activities to help kids learn colors, shapes, numbers, etc. The creator, Stevin John AKA Blippi, was actually a former US Air Force serviceman!
